Carrie and Wyatt have a rainy day Lange Farm wedding in the Antique Barn.
I have been asked by many people, mostly clients, what happens if it rains during a wedding. Welllllll… we go outside and jump in puddles of course! Ha! With about 5 weddings getting rained out last year, I have some serious experience and answers now. One of those happened to be Carrie and Wyatt’s Lange Farm wedding. The day started with gorgeous blue skies, sunlight and some really great getting ready moments. It seemed like the rain was going to shift and miss us. Photography began at Carrie and Wyatt’s home, with her bridesmaids, one of their daughters Evie and their adorable and frightened rescue dogs. Their younger daughter Eden wasn’t there for the getting ready portion, you’ll see that cutie later. Wyatt was at his childhood home with his mom and groomsmen. It was so fantastic to see all the old photos and interesting rooms she’s decorated there. Everything was so colorful and artistic! No wonder since Wyatt’s mom is a teacher. We got some great shots inside and outside on their large property.
The rain changed everything… not for worse though!
We headed to the Antique Barn at Lange Farm for the ceremony and reception. Just prior to the ceremony start time, a huge storm cloud rolled in and their officiant Rick, Danielle (the coordinator at Lange Farm) and I decided on an emergency back up plan of moving the reception to the first floor of the barn and having the ceremony on the second floor. Carrie and Wyatt were both so calm and easy going, agreeing this was our best option.
The ceremony was incredible, emotional for all, including their daughter Evie. From then on it was laughing and dancing and we all had a great party through the rain. I even caught some lightning that lit up the background in one of the reception shots you’ll see! If you have any questions about rainy weddings or how I lit the shots you’ll see in the rain, please let me know. Enjoy their story below!
…Because I have very little.
He’s very committed. Not just in our relationship but when it comes to making or doing things around the house, or while he’s at work. He gives it his all, always.
Carrie said she first noticed his, “Awesome eyebrow arch” as seen here.
Heather at Taylormade did a beautiful job with the florals and bouquets.
It’s never any one moment or single action… It’s the little things she does everyday to make my life happier and more fulfilling. It’s her effortless ability to lift my spirits and make me smile.
Act goofy and do embarrassing things around the house together when no one else is home.
Just a few weeks ago, I got a new job (which I was very excited about), and he wanted to show how proud he was of me so he surprised me with a huge bouquet of flowers. My co-workers couldn’t stop talking about it.
On the proposal: Just him being extremely nervous. (He were around my whole family) When he started talking to get everyone’s attention, I could tell he had something up his sleeve.
Carrie had a mouth full of food when I got everyone’s attention just prior to the big question
Wyatt says their biggest adventure so far was to “swim” in the ocean at Clearwater Beach after Midnight in front of Crabby Bills.
